            The Cold Trap® freeboard chiller is a solvent control accessory which is 
featured on all UKI degreasers (however it can be fitted in the field as a retro-fit on existing degreasers of any make).

                Cold Trap® is comprised of a secondary set of low-temperature finned refrigeration coils (operating at -20 degrees F) which are placed in the freeboard area directly above the primary coils. These low temperature coils create a cold air blanket above the vapor zone which suppresses escaping vapors. Worker safety is thus improved and costs are substantially reduced.

                Based on data obtained from over 1200 installations, dramatic solvent reductions through the use of Cold Traps® range from 40% to 70%, averaging a norm of 50%.

                After a test witnessed by a representative of the Federal EPA: the sub-zero freeboard refrigerated device was accepted as a major control device in connection with the Proposed Standard for New Stationary Sources. Organic Solvent Cleaners (EPA Docket No. OAQPS-78-12).
